3 Unique Visual Styles for Windows XP

Was in search for a few new visual styles for my laptop computer, and ran across these the other day on Deviant Art. Now there are a lot of ugly visual styles out there meant to replace the candy coated Windows XP skin but these three are very sleek.

For help on getting them installed, check out my previous tutorial on installing your own visual styles on Windows XP. Also big thanks to the artist of all three of these themes, from lassekongo83 Deviant Art. Fabulous work!

Dark and Beautiful XP Visual Style

I just ran across my new favorite visual style for Windows XP on Deviant Art. It is dark, beautiful and more functional than most of the ones you find out there.

Now as long as there are cool visual style designers like this out there in the world, I have no real need to upgrade to Vista for a visual change. It has been a long time since I used that old big and blue default Windows XP theme.

Have a look at it for yourself.

Amok Visual Style

I am running it on my laptop right now, and I will be putting it on my desktop really soon. To use it yourself, you will need to replace your uxtheme.dll (pretty easy process, not too hard to do).

SlanXP Visual Styles

SlanXPNow I usually love to browse through the Windows XP visual styles on Deviant Art, but lately all of them have sucked.

They are either ugly or Vista and OS X ripoffs. With that in mind, I have to say I was pretty surprised and happy to see SlanXP had been released. I have been using it this morning and I can’t find a thing hardly wrong with it. Personally I just had to change a few of the font settings - other than that it is as good as they get.
