Time to find me a place to gather up some sand in the desert. The key thing with this is I need to wander off so that I don’t run into any place I want to do some real building at.  What type of things do I run across in the desert and can I make it back before dark? You’ll have to watch and find out!

Yesterday we got the house started, so today – I figured we could go ahead and put a roof on it.  It might be a little stereotypical to put in a skylight (seems like everybody does it).  However, I jump on the band wagon and do the same. Mhykol Mines – This series gives you the basic walkthrough of somebody playing through Minecraft and covering all the basics. Mhykol does a great job at putting together videos that follow him through building up various traps, bases and other things through the game of Minecraft and keeps things interesting enough that you want to see what might come up next in his mining adventures.

Etho’s Lab – If you are more of an inventor, rather than an explorer – you might like the videos Etho has put together.  From building simple dark room traps to loot the booty from the various mobs in the game to creating complicated devices to make you time in Minecraft easier – Etho does a fantastic job at creating elaborate devices in Minecraft.  After watching a few videos you literally can’t wait to see what kind of wacky devices he will come up with next.

Coe’s Quest – Now I have touched upon Coe’s Quest before in an earlier post and everything I said back then still applies. Like Mhykol’s videos, Coe does a great job at taking you through an interesting task or adventure in every video.  If anybody was going to ask me for a basic tutorial or guide to getting started in Minecraft, I would definitely send them to Coe’s Quest.

The Yogscast – The Yogscast is far different from other Minecraft videos out there.  Taking a more entertaining route, Simon and Lewis go through various "adventure" maps that people have created and also take a look at a lot of the various mods out there for Minecraft.  The videos are always have the right balance of comedy mixed with adventure.

So there you have it. These are the four best Minecraft series I have found on YouTube as of late.  Let me know what you think or if you have found any other Minecraft series worth checking out yourself.

Coe’s Quest is the YouTube web series I ran across when I was looking for a way to do more inside of the game of Minecraft. He has a very pleasant tone about him and his videos are not filled with cuss filled rants just for the sake of cussing.  Not that I have anything against adult language – but I have been even able to show my two nephews an niece the videos without worry of having to cover their ears every two seconds.

I grew up watching the Price is Right every single morning, back before I started kindergarten and every summer morning too.  It was a fun part of the morning growing up, before the days of the Internet.  Now, while anything that Bob Barker does is almost instantly awesome, it was always fun to see when things went a little wrong.  Here are three of my favorite Price is Right mishaps.

Shell Game Cheater

How are you going to try to cheat Bob Barker?  She tries to make up for it after the fact.

This guy wants that digital piano just a little too much.  After getting the rules explained to him, the guy still tries to cheat – or maybe he was just nervous.

You just don’t cross Bob Barker.  You are up there, you get to play, you get to stand next to Bob then you tell him, you don’ need those things your bidding on?  You sir are a jerk.

Maybe it is just me, but this theme for me just fits in perfectly with the Mr Perfect, better than you and everybody else, character. 

Demolition

Another famous Rick Derringer wrestling theme, and I don’t care what you say Demolition was awesome and not a cheap Legion of Doom knock-off.

Triple H

Well, the song does tell you everything you need to know.

There is no doubt in my mind that Red Dwarf was one of the greatest television sitcoms of all time. Originating from a recurring radio sketch, Dave Hollins: Space Cadet, this show about an odd band of misfits traveling through space, was beyond awesome. Cinemassacre Productions

I got my first taste of the awesome content that Cinemassacre delivers by finding (and then later watching) a few episodes of the Angry Video Game Nerd.  By far, it is probably my favorite series from the web site – but some of the miscellaneous content like Board James and You Know Whats Bull Sh*t is just as funny and entertaining to watch.

How could a web site named after the famous Metroid attack go wrong?  It can’t.  Looking at both new and old school games, ScrewAttack has your classic reviews, top ten lists and even submissions from their fans that make it onto the site.  If you’ve grown up as an 80’s child, and still have a love for both new and old games – this site is definitely one worth checking out.

This is the most recent one I have stumbled upon and started watching.  Once again, we kind of go to all of our loves of watching something old, with the most popular series from the site being the Nostalgia Critic.  The entire web sit though is filled with videos that are well thought out, well produced and will leave you wanting to watch more.

My name is Mitch and I was a backyard wrestler.

Back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, professional wrestling was at a high point.  You had the NWO, Austin 3:16, and if you didn’t tune in Monday night, you just didn’t know what was going on in the world.  So my friend and I did what others were doing – doing all that stuff they told you, “Not to try at home”. 

However, what separated us from the rest, was we just had fun with it.  We never bashed each other over the head with light bulbs or did anything stupid that would seriously injure somebody.  That was only part of it though. 

Having decide to take down the ring – I thought it might fun to share with the world what EAW used to be about.  Rather than tell you, which I’d be blue in the face by the time I finished, I thought I would let you watch what was going on 10 years ago.

As soon as I start converting them over, the EAW library of content will be shared right here.  I hate to sound clique, but stay tuned.  It is devastating.

The "rewards" feature of Plurk is very interesting too.  You can get a little star by your name if you achieve a certain goal.  Also, certain customizations (such as page styles) are not available to you until your Karma number has reached a certain point.

• Plurk is much more social than the other status and micro-blogs out there.  Many more replies here and much more feedback to be had if you just ask.

Share Your Photos and Videos with Everybody!

You can share photos too, just make sure that link your posting ends with a .gif, .jpg or .png.  Plurk will automatically generate thumbnailed images for you and open them up inside of Plurk when somebody clicks on them.  The same is done for YouTube videos too. 

What Makes Plurk So Different?

The timeline is what sets Plurk apart from the competitors.  This gives you a unique view of all the messages from your friend that may seem a little odd at first, but you quickly catch on.  You also have the option to view all the new message, or mark all messages as read.

Maybe it is just me, but Plurkers seem to be a lot more friendly too.  They are all looking for replies of their own, so they might be more willing to stop by your personal Plurk page and say, "Hello!".  Looking for a friend?  Feel free to click here and add me!
