WordPress

By far, if you want the most bang for your buck, WordPress is the hottest blogging script out there today.  I have spent the past few weeks looking at a lot of WordPress alternatives, but when push comes to shove – thus far nobody does blogging scripts better than WordPress, in my humble opinion.

The install is simple, and famous for being able to be done in 5 minutes or less.  As far as features go, you have link management, post categories, tags, auto-saving of posts, categories, and more.  It would take me days to list them all.

Here is video of WordPress 2.7 doing what it does so well:

You have plugins and themes included too, which means you can customize and add features you might need, but the developers for got about. Here are a few more usual WordPress links that any WordPress fanatic should have handy:

I haven’t had much time yet to really play with an appreciate the newest version of WordPress yet, but from what I have seen thus far – WordPress 2.7 is a great improvement visually over the previous versions.  You can pick up WordPress via WordPress.org.

Hosting Video Tutorials

Since the holidays has everybody (including me) all mixed up with to-do lists and haven’t don’t yet choirs I thought I would try something a little different this week for the Web Hosting Show instead of rolling out the usual podcast.

Whipped this tutorial up in under 30 minutes or so, since I have had some people ask for the “videos” section of the Web Hosting Show to comeback. What do you think – worth the time and effort to look into?

What hosting-based tutorials would you like to see?

DemoWolf and DemoSuite

DemoWolfThere is no doubt in my mind that DemoWolf might be one of the most impressive companies of the entire year of 2006. If I was putting together a set of awards for the year, they would be taking home more than a few.

They have most recently launched a new service that will allow you to play anybody’s flash tutorials straight from your PC. The DemoSuite is the perfect tool for any Web host to pick up to provide to customers. It is one more way to enjoy those flash tutorials that DemoWolf puts out for the Web hosting industry as well.

DemoSuite is an application that web hosting companies can use to create a custom-branded Flash Player for their customers to download. The DemoSuite Flash Player is a desktop application that allows the customer to play their web host’s flash support tutorials directly from their Windows desktops.

Let’s be honest folks, DemoWolf has gone from being somebody who is nipping at DemoDemo’s heels to a major competitor. Now I have always been a friend of DemoDemo as well, so you will not see me picking sides. I do have to say though, impressive is what DemoWolf has really been these past few months.

DemoWolf Gets New Look

Even though I am not a Web host, I have nothing but good to say about DemoWolf.com and the services they provide. A few weeks back we teamed up via WebHostingShow.com to deliver folks some free (and awesome) flash tutorials to watch and learn from. Now it looks like they have updated themselves with a much more professional look and design.

(Nova Scotia, Canada) – DemoWolf (www.demowolf.com) today announced the launch of their newly redesigned website, including a new logo/branding, new shopping cart system, new Live Chat system and revamped customer Forums.

Coinciding with the new website launch is the announcement of dramatically reduced pricing on most tutorial series. All tutorial series are marked down to sell quickly, particularly the Voice tutorials. Prices have been slashed by as much as 45% off the Voice tutorials, making them affordable for even the smallest hosting companies. These new prices will be in effect for the month of October 2006 only.

DemoWolf now has Live Chat available as another means of communicating with their visitors and customers. Simply click on the Live Chat icon that exists in the right margin of all pages in www.demowolf.com, and be connected directly to a sales/support representative.

The DemoWolf Forums have also been redesigned, but not just in looks. Many forums have been consolidated, and new forums created, as DemoWolf gears up for the release of new products and applications. These forums are located at http://forums.demowolf.com.

About DemoWolf
