Pen.io boasts that they are the fastest way to publish online, period. It is true, you can create a beautiful text-based page in seconds and then share it with whomever you wish to share it with too.  Here is a quick example of what the pages look like:

As you can see, they keep things very simple and lightweight.  Now, I wouldn’t say this would be the perfect way to publish an entire website – however it is handy if you want to share something you have written online – but don’t want to go through all the trouble of finding a fancy place to host it.  Just write it up, publish and share the link.  It really is super simple to do.

Want to create and share a quick note with somebody? All you need to do is visit Rmmbr, type our your note and then share the URL with anybody.  They will then be able to check out the note you have for them – and maybe even send you one back.  Today, I will be taking a look at how easy it is to create a note using Rmmbr.

To create your first reminder, just type in a note into the text box on the website, like so.

Next, we hit the "Enter" key on our keyboard. That will create your note for you.  Now you can write your note in the empty text box, or double-click the title to change it too.

Once you are happy with your note, hit the big "Saved!" button at the bottom of the webpage to make sure the latest version of your note has been saved.  Now, all I have to do is share this link with anybody I want to see this note:

When you click that, you will be taken to go visit the note I created using the steps above.

Looking for a way to embed articles or images into your own website layout?  Embed Anything is an interesting new service that delivers you the chance to embed both on the fly.  The idea here is simple, let your visitors embed your content – rather than just taking it.

Here are a few key reasons for giving Embed Anything a shot.

• Embedded content comes with a link back to build SEO and traffic
• Embedded content is invisible to search engines
• Ad space contained within each embed lets you monetize embedded content
• Reporting and control over which sites are embedding your content

A new online tool, JustPaste.it makes it easy to share text and graphics over the Web.  This service allows you to quickly paste text directly from your word processor of choice onto the online page.  You can then spruce up your documents with text formatting, colors and more.

There really isn’t much more to say – it is a simple tool that gets the job done. Two other features worth mentioning are:

Those people outside of the world of web design might sit and wonder, “Why might somebody need an entire web site dedicated to creating made up words?”.  However, those people inside of the web design world know that dummy text generation makes it handy to test a web site without having to fill it up with real content, just yet.  Needing some dummy text of your own?  Check out and save the Blind Text Generator for help.

This online tool will allow you to select from several different dummy text types (from Lorem ipsum all the way to Pangram) .  You can also set it up by the number of words or the number of characters.  Last, but not least, you can setup how many paragraphs you need too.

One more secret to this site I would like to share with you.  If you click on the advanced options, you can setup the CSS stylings for the dummy text too.  So this is not only a dummy text provider.  It can also help you style your web site font, or at least try new things – without messing up your own web site design.

Looking for another blogging script alternative?  The neat thing about FlatPress is that they say it needs no database management system to work.  Now, how the heck do they do that?  You don’t need MySQL because FlatPress stores all of its content on text files.  Some of the other features included are:

• Standard-compliant (XHTML valid)
• Plugin support
• Widget system
• Easy to customize with themes (powered by Smarty)

As you can see, it has all the usual bells and whistles most bloggers are looking for.

You can download FlatPress for free, and give it a shot.  If you are looking to support one of the many other free blog scripts out there, using FlatPress would be a great way to get started.

They not only offer URL shortening services (taking your long URL and creating a shorter one that is easier to share).  They also offer e-mail address shortening and text shortening too.

Here are a few use suggestions for Kissa.be via their web site.

• Shorten web addresses for emails, forum posts, blogs etc. which cannot handle long URLs and might wrap them, making them unclickable
• Lower the character count when texting web addresses to a mobile phone
• Hide the real URLs of affiliate links from visitors to your site
• If you dislike a web site and have to mention it (e.g. when complaining about it), link via kissa.be so that your link does not help the site’s search engine positioning
• Clean up bookmarks for social bookmarking sites or sites with low character limits like Twitter
• Obscure your real email address from bots which harvest them to spam (enter an address like mailto:user.name@example.com)

Kissa.be is different in another way too.  They have opened themselves up, and put up their code on Google’s Code web site.  Kissa.be’s code has been released under the GNU General Public License v2.

To use, all you need to do is copy any text you have into the pastebin and then hit the submit button.  In return, you’ll be given a URL to get easy access to that text.  Think of it as TinyURL for just about anything text-based.  As if that wasn’t enough to love – they also have a Firefox extension too.

This tool makes it easy to wrap your text on a web page around in new and different ways.  No more rectangle blocks!  You can make text wrap around curves, zig-zags, or whatever you want.  To get started, all you have to do is use the wizard on their web site.  The output will be saved as Javascript, XHTML w/ Classes, or Inline CSS/XHTML.

Windowpaper XP is a freeware program that will allow you to get that one Windows 98 customization feature that just seems to have gone to the wayside. The ability to change the wallpaper of a folder as well as the text color of the icons in that folder.

Here are some of the features of the program from the developers.
