FeedMingle is an interesting tool that will combine multiple feeds into one to produce a combined RSS, Atom, JSON, or widget.  This can come in handy when you need to track multiple feeds, however you would like to have them all in one general location. 

The tool itself is easy enough to use.  No need to login for now.  All you do is plug your feeds into the web site, and you are done.  For example, I merged together the feeds for the Web Hosting Show, Firefox Facts and Mitchelaneous into one super Mitch-loving feed here:

The widget that the script produces (which could be copied and pasted onto your own site or profile) is a little on the simple side – but there is still plenty of room for improvement. 

Overall, FeedMingle is worth giving a shot if you need to merge multiple feeds into one huge feed.  It is there to make life simpler for web designers, developers, feed readers, bloggers or anybody else who may need a new way to deliver their content.  I am very excited to see what they do with this service down the road.

• Feed43 – For tweakers, this is the tool for you.  Check out the tutorial to see all the customizations you can do.
• Dapper – Easy to use tool for visually creating your own RSS feed from any site out there.
• FeedMarklet – A no-fuss interface.  It won’t scrape content but makes it easy to add your own.
• FeedYes – Automatically generated feeds for any page on the Web.
• Page2RSS – It is a service that helps you monitor web sites that do not publish feeds.
• Ponyfish – Simple web-based tool that allows you to create your own RSS feeds from almost any web page.
• FeedBeater – Just plug the web site URL in, and let the web site take care of the rest of the conversion.
• FeedFire – This site will take virtually any web page and convert it into a fully formed and fully coded RSS feed.

Out of them all, I think FeedMarklet and Feedity probably have the easiest interface to get started with, and Feed43 has the most options to customize and tweak till you get things just the way you want them.  I would suggest giving them all a shot though, and see which one does to the best job for you, depending on the page you are trying to pull RSS information from.

This looks like a really interesting idea. I like the idea of bringing feeds and media together in little hubs for people to subscribe to. You can go join a network that is already in place, or you can go and create your own.

So what is to be gained by joining one of these networks?

Every participating publisher has an equal opportunity to appear on a network “landing page” that is comprised of the most recent headlines from the collective group (view an sample landing page). We encourage publishers to brand their network with a descriptive and compelling name and even include a logo.

FeedBurner provides a number of promotional tools to help participants get the word out including a network badge, chicklet and FeedBurner’s popular BuzzBoost service. In addition, publishers who are invited to join a network will also have the opportunity to submit their feed to FeedBurner’s growing advertising network, FAN.

I had no problem importing my OPML list into News Alloy, and once I did I was ready to go. You see, I like to see a long list of entries in my feed reader that I can scan down. Once I have reached the bottom, I want to be able to get rid of them for good. It is such a simple idea, I don’t know why more Online feed readers don’t provide this simple view aspect.

Another nice thing I liked about this service is it didn’t choke on my number of RSS feeds that I subscribe to.

I was playing around with the Aggregator RSS option and made one big RSS feed out of the RSS feeds I had for Mitchelaneous, the Web Hosting Show, Firefox Facts, and Mitch’s Midgets.

After I finished that, I made a mobile edition of Mitchelaneous.

New Three Column Design – I wanted a cleaner look that had more content, but was still easy on the eyes. I have also sectioned off the front page into Inside Industry News, Outside Industry News, and Web Hosting Forums. Now all three sections can be seen evenly.

New Colors – I am going to keep the idea of being able to change the Web page’s CSS (and being able to save your favorite look). This time around everything is going to stay basically the same as far as layout goes, I am just going to add more colors. So far the two I have developed for this early beta is a blue and gray theme and one that looks more like the “classic” Hosting Hoopla orange and white.
