Fonts always confusing me when it comes to editing or creating a stylesheet for a web site layout. Thanks to CSS Type Set this is no longer an issue.

To use, just fire up the web site and paste in the text you wish to style. Then use the controls at the bottom of the web site to adjust the text spacing, line height, font color, font style, how it is formatted and much more.

This is turning a three hour job of playing with CSS, trying to get it just right uploading and downloading all into something you can do in about five minutes. CSS Type Set has earned a spot in my web dev folder for sure.

It is not that often I find a WordPress theme that impresses me – so mark this date on your calendar of choice because it is a special occasion indeed. I really like the LoseMyMind 1.0 theme. It is simple, yet not too simple. Clean, but still gives you some features. As I look towards redesigning a few of my projects, I might just have to keep this theme in mind.

Want to fix a few simple design flaws with the Firefox?

Raise your hand if you have ever played with the Stylish extension for Firefox. Now raise your other hand if you knew where to find some of the cooler application style for Firefox.

For all of you who have both of your hands in the air – I want you to wave them like you just don’t care. For the folks with one hand still on the mouse, scroll down to see some of my favorite tweaks to Firefox you can do with the Stylish extension for Firefox.

Add Something to the about:blank Page – Why does the about:blank page have to be so – blank? There are several cool styles you can load up here to give your about:blank page a makeover. Here are a few more cool ones to pick from: About:Blank – Foxkeh and About:Blank – Washout.

Auto-hide Statusbar – Tired of your ugly statusbar getting in the way of your browsing? Load up this style and it will only show when you hover over the bottom section of your Firefox window. Move your mouse, and it disappears again just like magic!

Sliding Menubar – Menubar getting in your way too? Load up this style and you can set it to only be shown when you need it. Click on the Firefox icon in the old menu bar place to show it and hide it. No reason to show all of those options up there if you don’t use them all the time.

Bookmark Folder Icons – Add your own icons to specific folders inside of your bookmarks. This is helpful if you have a load of bookmarks and folders for the bookmarks and want an easier visual way to navigate inside them.

Colorize Firefox 2.0 Active Tab – Tired of your active tab looking like all the rest of them? Wish it was a little easier to see the tab you were on in comparison with all the other tabs that are in the background? This user style does the trick and allows you to set your own color combination.

Have a favorite that I might have missed? Leave a comment so I don’t miss it again and so we can share it with the rest of the class.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Mitchelaneous Facebook Fan Page!

I have been using iGoogle since it’s launch of gadgets and I have to say it is the best of the start pages out there (at least for me). A few things about iGoogle’s style kind of bug me though so I thought I might share a few of my favorite style hacks. The first two need the Stylish Firefox extension installed (or another workaround alternative) but the last one can be done without any special extra tools.

Transparency Effects for iGoogle – This user style makes the search bar fade into the background a ‘bit more on the themed iGoogle Web pages. Sticks out less and makes for a better visual experience.

Collapse iGoogle’s Top Section – This one is pretty neat. After installing it, you hide the top Google search box and pretty much everything else over the iGoogle tabs. To see that stuff again, just move your mouse to the top of the Web page layout.

Add More iGoogle Tabs – Reach your tab limit on iGoogle? To add more all you have to do is copy and paste this to the address bar, while you are on iGoogle, then press enter.

javascript:_renameTab(); _dlsetp(‘at=’)

More help on this tip can be found at Googlified.com!

Want to have more fun with iGoogle? Get a Few More Style Customizations at Mashable! That list there inspired me to write about some of my favorites here.
