Playing with My Second Brain

second-brain I always like to check out the new services out there and one of the new ones to catch my socializing eye is Second Brain.  It is another place that promises to be a “catch all” for all of your social content on the Web.  Supporting everything from Flickr to Twitter you can import all your various profiles all in one place.

Once setup, here is what it looks like:

Quickly Share any Song

Taking the link shortening service to a new level, TinySong allows you to type in the name of any song and get a shortened link to it to share with others.  For example, lets say I knew you were in the mood for some Van Halen (with David Lee Roth of course, Sammy Hagar is not welcomed here).  Now I go to TinySong.com and type in “Jump”.  The number two result there is “Jump” by Van Halen.  Click on that and your done.

Now I can share that song with all of you here:

Of course this makes sharing song recomendations REALLY easy.  This is all powered by Grooveshark, which is an awesome service in it own right that is well worth checking out too.  Go give TinySong a test to see if it can pull up the song you have stuck in your head right now…

Easy to Add RSS Widgets

There is no doubt that there are many places to grab widgets of your RSS feed to display on other pages as a badge in flash or javascript form.  The newest resource to toss into this endless bucket would be WidgetEasy.  Playing a little ‘bit with the site this morning - I do have to say it is easy.  All you do is put in your RSS feed address into the box, they they spit back out a javascript box with all your links.

Then all you have to do is copy and paste the widget code onto any web page out there to display the widget on that specific web site.  Ranks high in the pretty neat category.  Doesn’t give a bad presentation.  I would give this one two freaky Mitchelaneous thumbs up.

Unique Collaboration Tools

We might not all work best in groups, but there is no doubt that a group can sometimes come up with more unique ideas and it does help to have somebody or something to bounce your ideas and work off of.  Here are some unique tools for working together with others.

WebCanvas - This is a tool that will give you an infinite canvas to paint, draw or sketch out your ideas to others.

ReviewBasics -  The catch phrase is "content review made easy". You upload your work, invite people to review and you can watch you feedback come rolling in.

(xy)write it! - With this you can create, share and export documents for free.  It provides a simple way to share and collaborate on a document no matter your location on the globe.

Hopefully with these three you will at least have a new way to work on that project you have in mind or get your next big whatever your working on done.  The Web makes it easy to use the power of many to get a single task done…

so why not take advantage of it?

Alltop is all the best of the web?

Inspired by popurls, Alltop hopes to deliver you what popurls does but do so in a way that covers more content rather than cool page tweaks. If your looking for a way to browse through a lot of news rather quickly, without cluttering up your RSS feed reader then Alltop is a must have bookmark.

Best of the Web?

From celebrities, gaming, news, photos, politics, food and more they have more than just a few topics covered well. They also seem to specialize in just bringing the best resources on a lot of different topics together in one spot.

Where a place like popurls gives you general geeky web goodness with a lot of page customization tweaks, Alltop focuses on delivering you as much relative content as they can and do so in a stylish way.
