Ping.fm Makes Being Social Easier

Thanks to Ping.fm I can finally be apart of more of these social sites without jumping here and there every time I want to update something.  The best way to describe it is that it is a tool that just brings it all together.  You can do status updates, blog updates, or micro-blog updates depending on the tools you are using it with.

Currently, here are the places you can follow me:

Bebo, Facebook, Hi5, LinkedIn, LiveJournal, Mashable, MySpace, Plurk, Pownce, Tumblr, and of course everybody’s favorite red headed step child Twitter.

Of course I’m not just looking for multiple avenues to plug and market myself, I’ve also been just sharing random Mitch-like nuggets of wisdom and random things that pop into my head that I just need to get out during the day.

Ping.fm is my new best friend on this social Web we live on today.

More Pownce Invites?

Mitch Got Pownced!I noticed I had a few more Pownce invites to give out this morning, but I am starting to reach that point with my Pownce friends where I am not exactly sure who many of them are.

I mean, don’t get me wrong - I always like meeting new people and making new friends but for some folks on the list I think I’m just an easy number to gain so they can say, “Hey I have 854 friends!”.

I seriously think that Pownce needs a “Now, who were you again?” button.

How to Add Pownce to Your WordPress Web Site

Pownce + WordPressI am a big fan of Pownce. For those of you who don’t know about it - here is a little ‘bit of information from the Pownce web site that might help.

Pownce is a way to send messages, files, links, and events to your friends. You’ll create a network of the people you know and then you can share stuff with all of them, just a few of them, or even just one other person really fast.

How can you add your public pownces though to a web site outside of the powncerverse? Thankfully Ronald of cavemonkey50.com made a plugin for WordPress that gets the job done.

Go Get the Pownce for WordPress Plugin!

Once you get it installed and activated, all you need to do is copy and paste some text into your layout and your done. It could not be any easier. If you want to see it in action visit Mitchelaneous.com and check out the upper-right hand sidebar under “Latest Pownce”.

Any other cool Pownce tools out there yet?

Pownce - Needs a Little Something

Mitch Got Pownced!Well I have been using Pownce for a while now and I think there are some good things about it and a few things that could be improved with it. It hasn’t been fully released to the public though - so I don’t think there is any reason to think they won’t get things fixed up very nicely by the time everybody can use it.

Of course (like with any good Online application) I hope that continue to improve it past that point as well.

For those who are familiar to the instant messaging/connecting aspect of it - you can think of it as Twitter, but actually kind of useful.

Pownce Desktop Client Issues and Problems

I want to be able to minimize it to the system tray in Windows. It should remember it’s resized window as well. Right now I think the default size is a little on the large size, so I’d like for it to remember I resized it down each time I start it up.

Pownce Web Site Issues and Problems

Pownce really needs a better search option for users. I can’t really find people yet because the best thing you can do is a “Name” search. I want e-mail address search, I want keyword and interest search. I just want a little more to help me connect with people I know or people I might want to know.

Mitch Got Pownced

Mitch Got Pownced! No I didn’t say pantsed - I said Pownced! Even though I only have one friend thus far via the new service, I have to say I am pretty impressed.

It seems to deliver a ‘bit more than some of the other “twitter-like” services out there and if it picks up in popularity I could see myself maybe even becoming a paid member.

Come visit me and add me as a friend! Be my buddy!

Pownce has all of the neat features to become a winner, now all it needs is a user base to take advantage of it. Not really much else to say about it because I really need some friends added before I can give it a hearty review. Are you on there? If so feel free to add me as an amigo, buddy and/or friend.
