- HostingCon Sold Off to iNet Interactive? - iNET Interactive, those darlings of the web hosting world who brought us such things as webhostingtalk.com, hostvoice.com, and hostingtech.com have acquired the HostingCon conference.
- Interesting Tool to See if Your Site is Up or Down! - Previously I told you about an awesome web site status tool that could help you tell if your web site was up or not. Down for everyone or just me looks to have become a real success. I have one better though, thanks to a suggestion from a Web Hosting Show listener named John.
- The Mess That Was .ME Domain Name Registrations? - You may have caught wind of some of the .me buzz last week, as GoDaddy started taking registrations for them for $20 a year (and you have to sign up for two years, so that should really be $40)… If eight people say they registered it, that will leave seven people really unhappy about the whole ordeal.
- The Simplest FTP Program Ever!?! - I often hear complaints from people that FTP programs are too hard to use. There are too many options, too many buttons and too many configurations you have to learn about. For those people out there looking for a simpler FTP program I offer to you DropUpLoad.

Now it isn’t often that I want to take the audio track from a video on YouTube, but the other day I found a collection of wrestling themes I really like to have a few selections from. So to take the music from the uploads, I found a tool that will get it done.
The FLV to MP3 Online Converter is the tool you want to keep handy. So far it is still fairly quick with it’s conversion and when it is done doing that voodoo that it does so well it will spit out a .mp3 file for you to save, edit and rename as your own.

Want an easy way to create a simple mp3 mix tape for others? For those of you who may not know, mix tapes we’re what people passed around before all this music downloading and fancy mp3 stuff took place.
Now it has a new Web 2.0 look and feel with Muxtape. I have yet to create one of my own (might make a best of the Web Hosting Show?) but after listening to a few of the others this is a great way to get a sample of a lot of different music.

This week marks the 3rd birthday of the Web Hosting Show podcast. Three years later and 143+ podcasts recorded, I think we are still going strong and thankfully can continue to say we are the number one web hosting podcast out there today and the one and only voice of the web hosting world.
Here is a little more of what to look forward to on episode 143:
It is not only my birthday, but it is your birthday too. The Web Hosting Show has been rocking the web hosting industry for three year now, and hopefully for many more years to come. No surprises, no special guests no fluff will be here today though. I am just going to do my job and give you a grade A podcast you will soon not forget.

Looking for a replacement to your favorite burning application? There are many out there, but a new one to catch me by the nose and take me for a ride is BurnAware Free Edition. The package of disk burning tools is simple, but has enough to make it powerful enough to replace some of the classic crapfests that you can buy.
