Flickr is a great way to share your photos online, but using the browser tools might seem a little cumbersome to some people out there. If you want to upload photos directly from your PC to Flickr with only a few clicks in between, then you need the Flickr Uploadr.

With this free program, you simply right click on any image you wish to upload to Flickr, choose “Send to Flickr” and you get the window that is pictured above.  You can also drag and drop files into the Flickr Uploadr too.  From there tag your photos, write descriptions, give them titles and more.  When you are done, upload and all your images you picked will be up and online on your Flickr profile.

The Flickr Uploadr supports both Mac and Windows, so go download it and start adding new pictures to your own Flickr profile.  You don’t have an excuse now to put it off any longer!

Looking for a great photo album organizer to put on your website or to base your website on? Gallery is a great open source script that will let you get that job done.  It looks great as a stand alone website, and it also blends in seamlessly into your current website design too.

Here are some of my favorite features that come with Gallery:

• Auto Rotate Images – Gallery can look at information in pictures from digital cameras and automatically rotate them as needed.
• Image Quality and Size Defaults – You can limit the quality and size of images so that when images are uploaded, Gallery will resize them to save space.
• Main Gallery Page Settings – The configuration wizard contains all of the settings for how the main Gallery page looks and acts including showing or hiding the album tree, search engine, or album owner, and what frames to show around albums.
• Email Support – Set up email support to have your Gallery email users when their accounts are created or when they forget their password, email you copies, email people when the Gallery is updated, and more!
• Gallery-wide Slideshow – enable or disable a slideshow that includes all pictures in the gallery
• Commenting – turn off or on the public commenting system and configure it.
• Logging – enable logging with syslog or the Windows logger
• RSS publishing – publish your Gallery with RSS!
• Album Defaults – set defaults for the way that all new albums will originally look

If you would rather host your photos on your own hosting account, rather than relying on one of the free album hosting services out there, Gallery is a great choice.  When it comes to customizing the script, you can do so by creating or using a theme.  There are many free ones to download or you can tweak the CSS to make the page display you want to.

Public-domain-photos.com – The domain name says it all with this one.  This resource offers 5,000 free stock photos that are public domain.

TurboPhoto.com – Browse and download 2,000 free stock images here from 10 different categories.

EveryStockPhoto.com – This is a fancy stock image search engine that has over 5,000,000 images to share. Just pay attention here to the license agreement listed if you want to use the images on the website for free.

Sxc.hu – This is another great resource that has over 394,409 photos and images online to use. You have to sign up for free to be able to download, and there are certain license agreements here too that you must agree to before using images from this place.

Studio7Designs.com – The free stock photography collection here is a little light, but is still fantastic.  You are asked to give credit back to them for the image use – but that isn’t too bad when you are getting something for free.

Tired of searching for new wallpaper monthly or even weekly, to keep your desktop decorated?  Maybe you are looking for a program that will do the work for you?  John’s Background Switcher will take your boring desktop and decorate it with photos from a number of different sources automatically.

Once you have it installed, the first thing you will want to do is select a new default set of pictures for it to grab wallpaper from.  You can add pictures from your PC, Flickr, Facebook, Vlad Studio, RSS feed, Phanfare, SmugMug, Picasa, Webshots, Google image search, Yahoo image search and Bing image search.

Friday is always a good day to refresh the wallpaper you are using, right?  If you are looking for some of the best of the best, look no further than Wallbase.  This database of wallpaper awesomeness should not be overlooked.

Wallbase scrapes all the image boards like 4chan and the like to find the best high resolution images and wallpapers for you to decorate your desktop with.  You can search by keyword, by size or by how “safe for work” the image is.

But honestly, in this day of Web 2.0, you would think that one would be more encouraged to go their own route and not be afraid of vicissitude.

Ok, we get it – anyways, yes both Pict and Picamatic offer a really unique way to upload your graphics or images in a single click.  As for which one you should use? Try them both and see which one performs better for you, because as Plug Man said, neither are all that innovative once you get past the cool single click free image uploading and hosting.
