Which Robot Master from Mega Man likes to go commando? Eww, OK maybe that visual is even too bad for me. Commando Man is a lean mean fighting machine, and now you can grab a free desktop icon version of him to protect and folder or shortcut you have.
Commando Man jumps around while firing Commando Bomb. Be careful as the shockwave from the bomb reaches out and can still hit you. Whenever Commando Man lands, he shakes the ground and stuns you if you’re on the ground.
Pump Man, yes the man that can create a shield of bubbles around himself and then release them in several directions is the next Mega Man 10 Robot Master to be converted over to a desktop icon.

Time for some more Mega Man 10 free desktop icons. This time around, we have Strike Man.
Strike Man does a good job at giving me a believable back story. If all the robot masters had practical uses, Strike Man has be best in Mega Man 10. Now you can use him to replace any icon on your PC.
Over the weekend, I downloaded a new WiiWare game – so thought I would give my thoughts on it here. Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth is by far a great classic Castlevania game.
The graphics look fantastic. They really go for that old Super Castlevania IV look and feeling. Sure, we have seen it before in a Castlevania game but sometimes you don’t need to reinvent the wheel.
While checking out some of the press art for New Super Mario Bros Wii, I saw this classic picture of Mario and Yoshi that I just couldn’t pass up. I thought to myself, that would make one heck of a nice desktop icon to add to my collection… and the rest, my friends – is history.

I was a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fan back in the day, so being able to dive back into that again was a big part of my downloading Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtles in Time Re-Shelled over the weekend. So how does the game hold up over time, with new colorful graphics? Very well.
Maybe it is my childhood calling back to me, but beating the crap out of the foot soldiers as my favorite half-shelled heroes is still tons of fun. Now with that said – is there a lot of dying and a lot of button mashing action? Yes, there is. After playing it for a hour my hand really hurt, but it yet again gave me a feeling of the years gone by, and I was happy to have the pain.
It seems to be a mixed bag with character concept art. The turtles, Splinter, April ‘O Neal, the Shredder and Krang all look like they did in the original cartoon. However, Baxter Stockman, Leatherhead and a few others get an updated look that I am kind of happy with. Well, mainly happy they stuck with the basic idea of them and didn’t try to redesign the concept of the character. They just gave them a visual style update.
At only $10, if you have a PlayStation 3 I would highly suggest trying this one out. Well worth it, if only for a trip down memory lane.
There is no doubt that I am a big Nintendo fan boy. Well, I might not have a life-sized sculpture of Mario made out of mashed potatoes sitting in the corner of my office (or do I?) but I do like creating desktop icons from my favorite Nintendo characters.

There are some really amazing Adobe Air applications out there. One that most recently caught my eye was the FLVPlay HD video player. It is a free video player to get local control of remote videos.
By clicking on the bottom tab, or from File > Search, you can search for users on YouTube, you can select one of many feeds to check out, search by keyword and sort by several different methods. After you have watched a video you can download it, mark it as a favorite or add it to a playlist. If you have any .flv files you have downloaded, and don’t have anything else that will play them – FLVPlay HD will do that job too. Just go to File > Open, and open it from there.
So if you are looking for a great lightweight application to browse online videos, or watch some that you have saved to your PC, PlayFLV HD is definitely worth downloading for free to see if it meets your needs.
He might not be everybody’s favorite new Punch-Out character. Love the Disco Kid or hate him, you do have to agree with me it is always fun to give him a glove to the mouth via Punch-Out for the Wii. To match up with my previous Punch-Out desktop icons, I thought I’d toss him into the mix and turn him into an icon too. Just promise me you will not try to punch your monitor.
