NBA Jam has been just about the only sports game (outside of wrestling games) that I can play and actually have fun with.  Like it’s predecessor, the new NBA Jam for Wii is a basketball game for people who may not know all 227 rules you need to know in most basketball games.  It is simplified, when you compare it with other basketball games out there – but that’s perfect for me, because I’m not the world biggest sports fan. 

The game is great for a group of people or as something quick you want to play while you have a little free time to spare. 

Overall, I would say this version of NBA Jam might even beat out the old SNES version I still dust off and play from time to time.  It gives you all the basic features of the old two on two basketball game and tosses in enough new fun modes and un-lockables to get you to keep playing. 

Want to take a retro trip backwards in video game land, while also adding a little ‘bit of HD polish into the mix?  That is what this wallpaper, oddly named Cathodic Precision will do for you.

One of the real neat features of this wallpaper (other than its tributeness to Space Invaders) is the fact that each sprite is different.  If you check really closely, you will see there are no identical sprites at all.

Keeping with my recent gaming wallpaper kick I’ve been on, I thought I would share with you not one, but three Ms Pac Man wallpapers I stumbled upon the other day.  I really like the whole “giving a 3D look to classic games” style of design, and this selection of wallpaper goodness brings the classic Ms Pac Man game to a whole new dimension.

Since I started playing Batman: Arkham Asylum on the PS3, I have been on a Batman kick.  To help satisfy my bat-needs while I’m on my bat-computer, I figured I’d go out and seek some bat-wallpaper.  This excellent old school batman logo design really looks nice, and it fits my new monitor’s 1920×1200 screen resolution very well.

Searching for an old Atari 2600 cartridge scan? When I put together the Atari 2600 cartridge wallpaper, I used this web site as my source.  AtariAge.com has a ton of old Atari game cartridge, boxes and more all scanned into their archives.

While most kids my age were playing on the original NES, at the time I was having a fun time with a lot of these classic Atari 2600 games.  Also, some of the art on them are amazing.  They almost have complete painted portraits on the cartridge, and you just don’t see that type of craftsmanship on modern game boxes these days.

Looking for a way to get that great old Polaroid photo look, without the old fashioned camera?  Say what you will about the crappy film, however, to me at least, it always felt like a step backwards moving from Polaroid to 35mm film – because sure, the photos looked better, but they were not instant.  Plus, who doesn’t miss waving their photo in the air (and sometimes even blowing on it) because an uncle’s niece’s friend that you knew from his brother’s sister told you it helped them develop faster.
