Cure the Flash Audio Chipmunk Effect
So what do you do when your audio is coming back sounding like the lost member of Alvin and the Chipmunks?
I got an E-mail from a listener of my podcast the other day, and they had a problem that I had when I first started to podcast. With some audio, when you plug it into a flash player you end up with the output of the audio sounding really fast and high pitched. The is often referred to as the “chipmunk effect”.
What is the solution? Make sure you are encoding your audio at 11.025, 22.05 or 44.1 kHz. The Macromedia Flash player has a hard time working with audio that isn’t encoded at a multiple of 11.025 kHz.
