Recently picked up the DVD collection of Captain N: The Game Master. Now many of you probably don’t remember it, but I sure do. I was around 7 or 8 years old when it was in it’s first run and is one the the few Saturday morning cartoons I still have an itch to watch even today.
Here is a pretty good summary of the plot of the show:
The premise of the show concerns average California teen and Nintendo fan Kevin Keene and his faithful dog Lucky, who are both pulled into their game system to Videoland, an animated world populated by heroes and villains from various Nintendo games. There, Kevin must assist the N Team–a group formed by Princess Lana, Icarus (from “Kid Icarus”), Simon Belmont (from “Castlevania”) and Mega Man (from the game of the same name)–in defeating Mother Brain (from “Metroid”) and her henchmen from conquering Videoland.
Still doesn’t sound familiar? Here’s the intro (the music still gets stuck in my head to this day) to the show:
If you can put aside all the storylines that don’t exactly match up with video game history, it is still a fun show to look back on. I also stick by the same thing that I thought way back in 1989 - Mother Brain sounds like a drag queen.

Who doesn’t love the American classic, Garfield? Sure I still love the regular comics, but I do have to say they are much funnier without Garfield. Somebody has gone though the effort to remove that fat cat from a ton of old comics. What you are left with is John going from a guy with a cat to a guy who is a bit schizophrenic.

Is it a good thing when a Web hosting company starts to get rid of their workers in the United States to replace them with cheaper labor from overseas?
Of course not! I do have some good friends that live overseas and that are in the Web hosting world as well. Those are not the folks I am mad at. I am mad at the big hosting companies tossing perfectly good system admins out on the street and then going to these overseas sweat shops to find a replacement.
Now I don’t think this is as big of a problem as it used to be - but it is still going on. Companies outside of the USA are doing it as well. Computer companies are the worst offenders when it comes to these practices.
This is the last of my Web hosting comic series for now. If you have enjoyed those that I have posted in the past and this one as well, please let me know. In other words, leave a comment man! I would love to continue if you want me to.

Now the last time I said anything bad about GoDaddy’s Web hosting I got a phone call from somebody in a suit asking me why I would say such things about them. It is kind of a scary thought - at first I thought they might try to sue me or something.
I told them my problems with their services though and they listened. After they were done listening, they pretty much told me, “Well, this is the way things are and we like it that way” or something to that effect.
Go ahead and search Google, I know I am not alone here. I do not make fun of GoDaddy’s hosting because it is funny - I do it because I love them and I want them to get better. Just think of GoDaddy as the run away stray dog and me as the sheep herder. Not like I am going to hear from ol’ Bob on top of his golden domain palace - but I know somebody in GoDaddy headquarters will see me from way down here.
Hello Bob - are you out there? If you are, make sure you check out the Web Hosting Show on your way out. You might learn a thing or two about the Web hosting business.

When it came time for me to create the Web Hosting Show, I almost went in another direction. After I finished writing my first eBook on the Web hosting business, I wanted to do something else Web hosting related. So what did I almost jump into? I wanted to do an Online comic.
I was first inspired by the one that Matt Hartley used to be a part of a few years back (the name escapes me now), but it was just one of those projects I never got around to.
Well, never got around to till this past weekend. I worked on a few sketches, scanned them in and if I get enough praise or kind words I will keep posting them.
Give me your feedback, comments and suggestions. Should I keep it up or stick with my day jobs?
Doing a cartoon is one of those childhood dreams that I just have not had the time to get around to yet. I figured though with a new year right around the corner - there is no time like the present. If I don’t at least get to try each one of my childhood dreams at least once, what kind of person would I be?
Also, have I made you feel guilty enough to say you love it yet? You know me, I can go on and on if I have to!

[fa:p:a=mitchs-doodles,id=229451662,j=r,s=sq,l=i]Last week I uploaded a bunch of my old drawings and doodles I found while cleaning out a closet. I had forgotten about some of it, and looking at it makes me wish I could find time to draw as much as I used to.
