SMPlayer - The Super Video Player
I stopped really caring about video players a long time ago.

When it comes to podcasting, it take a while to tweak things around and find the best way of doing the job that needs to be done. I have talked with a lot of fellow talking heads - and this tip seems to be pretty popular.
When recording, if you think you sound a little funny - put the microphone above your nose or near your eye. You might have to turn up the mic sensitivity a little ‘bit but it will sound better. This is for people who think they sound too nasally or who might have a problem popping their p’s.
Also if you are a heavy mouth breather (no - I mean that in a good way) this could keep you from sounding like you just ran a three mile race before recording.
So what do you do when your audio is coming back sounding like the lost member of Alvin and the Chipmunks?
I got an E-mail from a listener of my podcast the other day, and they had a problem that I had when I first started to podcast. With some audio, when you plug it into a flash player you end up with the output of the audio sounding really fast and high pitched. The is often referred to as the “chipmunk effect”.
What is the solution? Make sure you are encoding your audio at 11.025, 22.05 or 44.1 kHz. The Macromedia Flash player has a hard time working with audio that isn’t encoded at a multiple of 11.025 kHz.
Go check out the Web Hosting Show for a slew of Hostingcon 2006 interviews and audio segments. I have dumped them all into one category for you to find, share and listen to easily. Of course, big thanks have to go out to TopHosts.com for doing all the hard work. They were the ones who got the interviews and segments, I’m just the one who shares them. ![]()

Well, it looks like the head honcho of Hostingcon noticed my comments about the Hostingcon CDs being a little over priced. This is what George Roberts had to say.
Please keep in mind that the price you quoted is for the whole program on CD, which is 32 CDs. We do make individual tracks available for a lower price as well as each individual session available. For those that just want to pick up the audio for a couple sessions they missed it’s pretty reasonable at $15 per session.
Now I like George. As I have said before, he is one of the brilliant minds of the Web hosting industry. I just think he is overlooking a few things.
Ok, I do realize that it is a big load of CDs you would be getting. If the price can’t be lowered though, how about giving us a few “Hostingcon bundles” to check out? Give me three or four CDs grouped together, and set the price under $100.
I want to look out for the Web host out there that couldn’t afford to go to Hostingcon - but still wants to learn something from the experience. I realize that profits have to be made, but cutting a few people a little slack should not hurt the bottom dollar.
As you can see on Mitchelaneous.com and WebHostingShow.com I have been playing with Odeo’s new customized flash player for podcasts. I love it, this has to be the best flash player anybody else released to date. Why is it that Odeo always seems to be on top of all the innovative podcasting toys?
