Most of us know about it, and not many people like it – the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA for short) is one of the most talked about pieces of law talked about in geeky circles in the past few years.  How much do you really know about it though?  Thankfully, I have found a great guide for both newbies to your digital rights and experts.

For the most part, that system has been used as intended. Countless DMCA notices have been filed to secure the removal of everything from illegal MP3s and movies to plagiarized poems. However, the system has also been abused at times and mistakes have been made in other cases.

Given how important this process has become, it is crucial for bloggers, Webmasters, hosts and anyone who posts content online to understand how the procedure works so they can both take advantage of it to protect their own work, if needed, and be prepared to answer any claims that are filed against them.

I recently retired my old Samsung monitor, and brought in a replacement.  While I work on getting a more official review in order for my new Samsung Touch Of Color 25.5-Inch LCD HDTV Monitor I thought I could at least share my unboxing photos with all of you.  Thus far I have been really impressed with it – and I’ll be sure to post more of my thoughts very soon.

After digging the monitor out, I thought it would be worth it to do a side by side comparison.  New monitor is on the left and old monitor is on the right.

All plugged in and ready to roll.  Here is the Samsung Touch Of Color 25.5-Inch LCD HDTV Monitor all plugged in, and ready for work.  It also doubles as a TV too – just got to find room on the desk to plug something into it, PS3? Wii? or maybe go old school and find an NES?

Who doesn’t love a little traffic humor?  I’ve done my best to search the Web for some of my favorite traffic signs out there.  Some are real, some are questionable, and well – they are all something that would make you do a double take if you saw them on your way to work.

So with that said, they do also have user reviews for the item too.  here are some of my favorites:

When we found cracks in the containment structure, we used to have to shut the whole plant down; then there was a lot of hassle with the nuclear regulatory agency about structural integrity and environmental contamination. With this quality duct tape, that’s all in the past. Now, when we see a cracked or crumbling wall, we just bring out the tape. The slate blue blends right in. I do recommend that you use use double layers for openings near the reactor core.

Is the world coming to an end?

As capitalism collapses around us and society falters, I began to get anxious about what supplies I should have on hand now that the turnips are planted. I was guided towards the 3M Nuclear Duct Tape, bound to be useful when the reactors start melting down, and then saw Amazon’s superb “What Did Customers Ultimately Buy After Viewing This Item” list. I was thunderstruck! Of course! In the end times, I’m going to need an electric toothbrush, a Rubik’s cube, and a Swiss Army knife! Not sure the Midnite Minichamp is the one I’d go for, though, it doesn’t have a toothpick, and dental hygiene will be critical in the coming collapse. Maybe I’ll get my Nuclear Duct Tape in red to match the knife, it always pays to look well put-together.

Stay away from this guy!

After a long night of beer and hot wings, I decided to overnight this tape to my house, as I knew what was going to happen.  After the epic birthing of a giant brown monster, I used 3M’s performance plus nuclear tape to seal around the bathroom’s door into the bedroom. To my surprise, my wife and children never did smell what I had to endure.  After 5 months, 29 days, I removed the tape, and I was happy to find no sticky residue left on the door frame.

A tape for every political party, after the end of days of course…

If you’re a nuclear technician and a Democrat, there’s no better high-performance duct tape for your facility than the SLATE BLUE nuclear duct tape.

Maybe not so good for a BBQ?

As I do most Sundays, I was working in the back yard on the grill. Because the dude next door is an Al Qaeda operative and he doesn’t lock his shed, I figured, hey, what the hell, let’s beef up the grill with some bomb grade plutonium. Because I didn’t have anything handy to hold it in place, I stuck it down with this 3M nuclear duct tape. After all, I don’t want my burgers exposed directly to radiation! That seemed like a good idea at the time, but when I threw a steak on the grill, not only was the steak cooked way too quickly, but the gamma rays jumped right through the tape and caused the steak to start glowing. It also tasted funny, so I can’t say I recommend this product at all!

Last but not least, a heart-warming summary of the king of all duct tape…

The tape works. It protected the house from certain doom and its occupants. Don’t tape your whole house if you don’t have time. It might be better to just tape yourself and your loved ones from head to toe.

Here are just a few of my favorite “fails” from the web site:

• Fail is when you dress up as gangster and think you run the streets. The sad part is that you live in the suburbs in a nice house and your dads an engineer & mom’s a doctor.
• Fail is when your sitting in a class room and your teacher talks to you for 5 minutes , showing you the linux operating system….after 5 mins you up your hand and ask “Is that windows vista?”
• Fail is when an employee writes how much she hates work on Twitter and fails to notice that anyone can read those tweets and her boss (Me) is following her.

• Fail is when you have ur head phones on and ur blasting your music…but the reality is that your headphones are unplugged and everyone can listen to your music! Fail!
• Fail is when you think you’ve taken the dog out for enough walks during the day and go to bed unconcerned, only to wake up the next morning to an unpleasant package waiting on the bathroom floor.
• Fail is when your so cheap that you decide to buy a ink refill package, rather then a cartridge…so then you come home and you attempt to refill it manually, however you end up screwing it up and make a huge mess..then you end up going back to the store and you buy the original cartridge…FAILED:)

The idea here is to cheer you up, by reading through other people’s often hilarious mishaps and failures.  I know that might seem a ‘bit sick and twisted, but Simply Failed can be a really fun time.

Where do the two mix together?

It all happens in step number one in setting up your feed at TwitterFeed.com.  Click on, “Show More Services” and select Ping.fm.

Now you should see a box where you can input your Ping.fm application key. To get your Ping.fm application key, login to your Ping.fm account, and under Services/Tools find the Application Keys link.

Now go back to TwitterFeed.com and finish setting up your feed.  Now, whenever a new item is posted to your RSS feed it will go to TwitterFeed.com, and then TwitterFeed.com takes it to Ping.fm to be published on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, FriendFeed and many more services.

You can now share your new blog posts as soon as you publish them to your web site.
