Now there are too many free image hosts out there on the Web today to name, so if you want to impress you had better do something slightly different than all the rest. Pict does that job very well, by shortening the free image hosting process to one step.

How simple is it? All you do is click on one of the empty “Upload Image” boxes, select the image, wait and you are done.

Really, that is it. No more. It is that simple. How simple? This is such an easy image uploading process that Picamatic decided to do almost the same exact thing.

So, which one is the better option? I figured, since he has used both, I would ask Plug Man himself. What do you think Plug-meister?

Actually I am ashamed in this great day and age of Internet innovation, that two online companies could show no courage to really make their own online tool more unique for the public at large. And furthermore…

Ok, that is enough Plug Man.

But honestly, in this day of Web 2.0, you would think that one would be more encouraged to go their own route and not be afraid of vicissitude.

Ok, we get it – anyways, yes both Pict and Picamatic offer a really unique way to upload your graphics or images in a single click. As for which one you should use? Try them both and see which one performs better for you, because as Plug Man said, neither are all that innovative once you get past the cool single click free image uploading and hosting.

Add me on Twitter! Come follow my daily antics, links, tips and more @mitchkeeler on Twitter!

Free file sharing sites are a dime a dozen out there, however every so often one catches my eye. S4ve.as allows you to upload any tile of any size for free and get a link back to it that remains good for 24 hours. So if you need to quickly send a big file to a friend, this offers itself up as a great solution.

Once you get the link, copy and past it anywhere and share it instantly via e-mail, web page, instant message, status update, tweet, etc. Links are automatically shortened using bit.ly.

The only catch that some people might not like is the link is only live for 24 hours, after that the files in question are removed. However, if you need a quick way to share anything – S4ve.as is an option better than most.

Add me on Twitter! Come follow my daily antics, links, tips and more @mitchkeeler on Twitter!

Want to do a little file sharing via Twitter? The new service FileTwt does just that. You can now easily upload and tweet about your files for free.

You can quickly share any file that is up to 20MB in size with your entire Twitter network or just a single follower. All you do to get things to work is give the FileTwt web site your Twitter details, find the file you want to upload, and then tweet away. Your newest tweet that you send out will have a special link attached that will let those who got the message download the file in question.

To get started, head over to FileTwt’s web site, and get signed up or try out the limited services for people who do not sign up for the extra features. File sharing via Twitter has never been easier.

Boasting of all the bandwidth and space they have for you to use, Sharenload is a new free file hosting service, that seems to round the bases when it comes to the basic features you come to expect from a free file host.

FAQ? Got you covered.

Upload box? Yes, it is there.

Way to upgrade to a more premium service? Got that too!

As it slides into home plate, it looks to have everything you might be looking for in a free file host. Of course, the terms or service says you should not upload any adult or copyrighted material. Also, while we are talking about limits, you can upload up to 2048 MB and up to 5 files at a time. By clicking on the “advanced” link via their upload form, you are also given a way to e-mail and password protect your upload too.

So, if you are looking to support a new free file host, Sharenload delivers all the basics you would come to expect, living up to their moto – just another file host.

Add me on Twitter! Come follow my daily antics, links, tips and more @mitchkeeler on Twitter!

All you need to do is browse for the file you want to convert, and then hit the “start conversion” button. Some of the files it currently supports include:

image/photo files (jpeg, gif, png, svg…)

audio formats (mp3, ogg…)

documents (doc, pdf, odt, txt, rtf…)

programming source code (java, php, cpp…)

web documents (html, htm…)

archive (zip, rar…)

video, fonts, chemical file formats and more

Once uploaded, every converted file has a unique web address created for it, so you can point others to it and share the document in question. So if you are searching for a free way to convert any file into a web page, give them a shot at File2.ws.

Add me on Twitter! Come follow my daily antics, links, tips and more @mitchkeeler on Twitter!

All you have to do is select the file you wish to upload, select the services you would like to upload to, and then the upload button will generate your single download link. Which free file sharing services are supported?

Rapidshare

Megaupload

Easy Share

DepositFile

ZShare

FlyUpload

and 6 more file hosts!

Once you get the download link, you can easily share it with your friends on MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and other networking platforms. If you are in search of an easy way to make a few mirror downloads for the free file you wish to distribute, Upload Mirrors is well worth bookmarking.

It gives you the file name, accuracy, file type, size and the search engine it came from. You can also sort the results by each of these categories, search your search results, and check out the search engine provider’s page for the search term in question.

Word of warning, there is adult content and it also appears there is no real easy way to censor it out. Other than that though, gammafiles.com looks like a real winner if you are looking for an easy way to find a file hosted on the rapidshare, megaupload and other big file hosting providers out there.

How do you use it?

Go to Pict.com main page

Click any of the "Upload image" buttons and browse to find image(s) that you want to upload

After a short while, your image(s) will be uploaded. To share uploaded image move the mouse over the image and click "Share it" link. To view uploaded image just click on image thumbnail. The JPG, GIF and PNG image file formats are supported. Also at this time there no limit to the number of files you can upload and share.

To help out with ease of use, they even thrown in Firefox add-on. Overall, I would say this web site is well worth checking out if you are in search of a quick and light image hosting tool.

One funny thing I noticed was they have a notice on the upload page saying, “You must be at least 21 years of age.” Of course they have no way of telling, so don’t worry too much.
