Compare your RSS Subscription Numbers

This is a tool I think Google and/or FeedBurner would be smart to pick up as soon as possible.  FeedCompare.com allows you to compare any two feed subscriptions to see how you stack up against the competition.

Above you can see the results of the Mitchelaneous RSS subscription feed numbers in comparison with my podcast, the Web Hosting Show.  You can also drag over a specific time frame to zoom in on the results.   Now lets see what happens when you compare the Web Hosting Show with The WHIR’s main daily news feed:

The Web Hosting Show is hanging in there – was actually surprised how close we were.  Is this the part where I am suppose to beg you to go subscribe to the Web Hosting Show’s RSS feed so we can beat them?  Ok, well you can – but it is all in good fun.  As you can see, FeedCompare.com can be a lot of fun.

Day 16 – Dealing with HP Support

Well yesterday was the big day – got my desktop PC back from HP!

Looks like they replaced my power supply and I should be back up and running as I was in a few days at most.  Going to take time to get things synced back over from my laptop to my desktop.  Overall I would say I was very impressed with how HP handled the situation.  A couple of days ago they even gave me a phone call to see how things were going and if I had gotten it back yet – that was nice.

On a side note, I can also report that Windows Vista’s image based backup service actually works! I made a backup of my PC before I sent it off and I am now back to how I was two weeks ago (even after a few reformats in between).  I am almost scared to praise them too much because then the wheels might fall off – but thus far that part of the experience has been the most surprising of all.

Best of the Online Image Editors

Why do it in Photo Shop or Paint Shop Pro when you can do it Online for free?  Here are the best (and not so best) of the Online photo or graphic editing tools I could find these days in no specific order.

  • Online Photo Tool – great interface, not confusing at all and tons of tools!
  • Splashup – all the image editing bells and whistles, including layers!
  • Picnik – more aimed at making it “fun”, plus they offer a paid for service too!
  • Snipshot – the bookmarklet importing kind of won me over here!
  • Pixenate – all the tools right there for you, no registration needed!
  • VicImager – needs some polishing, controls are kind of ugly!
  • LookWow – basic image manipulation, not too much editing!
  • Phixr.com – probably my favorite interface of them all!
  • FotoFlexer – tons of things to play with here!

Personally, I wish there were a few more like RoundPic that didn’t do everything fairly well, but instead did one thing really well.  Know of anymore resources worthy of being on the list?  Drop in a comment and leave your thoughts!
