Vista, Quick Thoughts = Not That Bad!

Windows Vista, not that bad?For those of you watching my recent twittering, you probably noticed that I ordered myself a new PC. The one thing that made me really reluctant about moving from my old 3 or 4 year old previous Windows XP machine was Windows Vista. I have heard so many horror stories on the Web how could somebody not be scared?

After spending some time with it last night though I have to say it is not that bad. Sure, there is room for improvement – but think about any previous Windows version. It is never “right” when you pull it out of the box. It takes a lot of tweaking, love, tossing midgets at it and affection before you get it the way you want it to be.

Remember all the “fisher price” jokes about XP? All those people who said that they would never move from Windows 2000 because XP was just horrible? Now those people are the same ones complaining now. Just insert “Vista” where “XP” is and “XP” where “Windows 2000″ used to be.

Now I am far from being a Microsoft fan boy but I am looking forward to seeing what life will be like using Vista.
