Facebook: Importing a RSS Feed as Notes

Turn RSS into Facebook NotesOnce reason that I like Facebook over MySpace is that it makes it pretty easy for Facebook to just update itself. I don’t have to step in an actually post things of interest when it reads my RSS feed pretty easily.

To get this done all you need to do is login to Facebook and then find on the left sidebar your “Notes” application. Now you should see your friends’ notes and what they have posted or imported in. Next you’ll need to look for the “Import a Blog” link.

In good ol’ cooking show fashion I have an RSS feed all ready to plug in from our creating an ego feed with Yahoo! Pipes tutorial that has been pushed through FeedBurner. Now put your RSS feed address into the box marked “Web URL”. Click the check mark, hit the “Start Importing” button and you are ready to go.

Now all of your Facebook friends can keep up to date with you via your notes section. Need a friend? Feel free to add me!

Any idea why when I try to add my blog feed to Facebook Notes it slows down my blog? I don’t just mean it slows down my blog a little but to the point it seems to end up shutting down.

Hmm.. I don’t think it should, since you are using a FeedBurner RSS feed, it would be pulling it’s information from FeedBurner and not from your URL exactly.

Greetings. Wonderful theme you have got here. I’m just on the lookout for a new theme for my own blog – where did you pick up this design? is it free or paid? Regards.

I’m not going to lie, you have lost me right here. I know that you just meant well and you clearly know what you are discussing, but I can’t say that I get where youre coming from. If you want people to understand your points, you ought to take into consideration the other side of the argument, as well. Youve got a wealth of know-how, Ill give you that. But, rather frankly, you turned me off together with your tone.

Hi there I only wanted to let you know, I truly like the written material on your website. But I’m utilising Chromium on a device running version 9.04 of Ubuntu thus look and feel are not rather enjoyable. Not a powerful deal, I can still essentially read the posts and look for information, but just wanted to inform you concerning that. The navigation bar is type of tough to use while using config I’m running. Keep up the superb work!

Things have been changed significantly. Contemporary games are… maybe more interesting but I still remember the way they played like ten years ago.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The user interface is multi-colored, has far more flair, and some great features such as ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see associated collections, tracks, or other users associated to what you are listening to. Clicking on 1 of those will center on that item, and an additional set of “friends” will come into view, permitting you to navigate around exploring by the same artists, tunes, or users. By the way, the Zune “Social” is also good fun, letting you locate others with shared tastes and getting friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist produced depending on an amalgamation of what all your buddies are playing, which is also enjoyable. People concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you are able to prevent the public from seeing your personal listening routines should you so select.
