Pro Wrestling Superstar’s Online Home

I have to say that I am pretty proud of myself when it comes to my work that I have done with my buddy’s Web site, SB1Online.com. I guess you could say this is the first time I have run a Web site for somebody else as webmaster/client relationship.

SB-1 and myself have been friends for a long time – so it is something I am happy to work on and contribute to. It is a nice thing to work on when I need a break from all the tech stuff that I usually find myself writing about.

I like to think of it as my way to live out my own old childhood dream of doing the same. Before becoming the Web hosting industry’s media rock star – I might have taken the same path as SB-1. It is all in how the cards of life are dealt though and hey, who says I can’t still wear spandex regardless?

There are plenty of pictures, videos and details there to keep you busy for a few hours at least. Take a look around, subscribe to the updates and keep an eye on my favorite indy pro wrestling superstar.

Send in Your Web Hosting Questions

I gave this a shot once and it didn’t work out – but I figured hey, why not give it one more try? I would like to get anybody and everybody to send me your hosting questions in audio form via Odeo. Here is the link for you to do so.

Send Me A Message

Now what can your question cover? Anything! Here are a few topic ideas to get you started:

1. Send me just a friendly hello!
2. Ask me a question about your hosting account of the Web hosting business.
3. Let me know your questions on and about domain names.

Both Web hosts and Web hosting clients are welcome to ask and I promise you I will do my best to get it played on a future episode of the Web Hosting Show. If I can answer it, then I will hook you up with somebody who can via the comments.

Send me your thoughts, my ears and podcast is waiting for you! Also if you know of a service other than Odeo which you would like to use just let me know.

RegisterFly Still Getting Hit

RegisterFly folks, I have an offer for you – but I will leave that for last.

You know you are in a bad spot when you are a domain name register and your Web site is down for any period of time. That is almost as bad as visiting a Web host, seeing it down, and then once it comes back up have a big “99.9% Uptime” logo flashing in your face.

If you want to hear some of my thoughts on what RegisterFly has gone through thus far, I would check out the Web Hosting Show from two weeks ago. The latest ‘bit of news to happen in their recent streak of bad luck is going offline for a little while. You can read all about the technical details at Netcraft. I am not sure if I feel more sorry for the RegisterFly company or the customers of RegisterFly.

Once source of news on this story I have been surprised by is ICANN. I never even knew they had a blog till somebody from the ICANN organization left me a comment yesterday via WebHostingShow.com. It is bookmarked, and is now one of my best friends when it comes to tracking all this RegisterFly trouble.

If anybody from RegisterFly’s side of things wants to have their side of the story told, I am offering you an open spot to do it on the Web Hosting Show podcast – the number one hosting podcast out there today. There is an open door for them to send me any audio statement they wish to send and I will play it for the world to hear. Now the only question is, will they take me up on it?

SocialURL is MySpace (if MySpace Didn’t Suck)

I was a little on the bored side yesterday afternoon after work, so I thought I would sign up for any place with the new SocialURL.com service.

For the most part it looks like many of the other MySpace clones out there. It allows you to make friends and send annoying little messages to each other.

I have to say it does seem better organized and better looking than MySpace, but a lot of the services out there are.

Saying you are better looking than MySpace is like saying you have the design skills of at least a cross-eyed midget that walks with a limp.

Social URL

The thing that is suppose to set them apart is your ability to link to your profile on all these other social Web sites such as MySpace, LiveJournal, Blogger, Delicious, YouTube and more. Can’t I do that on any other “social experience” Web site by hand though?

+ Check Out My Profile on SocialURL!

It is an ok experience, but still does not have the audience or user base yet to be great. It’ll be interesting to see how they are doing a year from now.

First Bad Experiance With Amazon.com

Well after much debate inside of my own mind, I finally broke down and bought a Nintendo DS Lite. I have been wanting one for some time – and I figured it was about time I had something new to tinker and play with.

So I went ahead and went to Amazon to go order it – but Houston, we had a problem. Well before we get to the problem, let me show you the nice message I got from Amazon.

The same image that made me think everything was going to be ok.

DS Lite

That is the first message I saw that got me all excited before I hit the order button. “Oh boy!” I had thought to myself, I can get it and it will be here on Tuesday. Well after going through the order process, I noticed this inside of my Amazon account:

DS Lite 2

What? Amazon – you just told me it would be here on Tuesday, not it won’t be here till next Tuesday? What the heck is that all about? Now I have always had a very good history with Amazon and they have never done me wrong before. I am still holding out hope that they get things together here.

Now some of you might say, “Hey, what is a week of waiting?” but when I already thought I was going to get it on Tuesday and then I am told seconds later something different, it makes me mad.

After checking the link this morning – I see it is no longer available via Amazon directly anymore. Now will this make me stop being an Amazon customer? Probably not. I am just kind of surprised that it took me this long to have my first bad experience with them.

Watch Mitch Tumble

Well I joined the tumblr bandwagon and got myself a place to tumble! I was never too good at cartwheels, but this it turning out (pun intended) to be pretty fun.

So what is a tumblelog? Does this make me a tumblelogger? Do I have to dress up like a lumberjack for your amusement? As always Wikipedia answers everything

A tumblelog is a variation of a blog, that favors short-form, mixed-media posts over the longer editorial posts frequently associated with blogging. Common post formats found on tumblelogs include links, photos, quotes, dialogues, and video. Unlike blogs, this format is frequently used to share the author’s creations, discoveries, or experiences without providing a commentary.

I am still tweaking a few things here and there on mine – will probably edit it some more this weekend when I have a little more free time. It is turning out to be a pretty addictive experience.

So go Watch Mitch Tumble and make sure you subscribe (to the special RSS feed) as well so you never miss a stumble, fall, trip, tumble of mine.

If you have one – drop me a comment and let me know about it.
