I have had a lot of folks asking me about free Web hosting and free file hosting alternatives out there, and I have to say I have not played with many of them.
One of them that I do see used a lot is SendSpace. The interface is pretty straight forward if you have a file to send to somebody. One thing to remember though is you are limited to 300 MB. Just type in your name and E-mail address, and the name and E-mail address of your friend and hit send.
They gain points from me on making things simple, I just wish they gave a few more options for folks who just want to send a file quickly and do not want to sign up for a service.
