I recently had the chance to pick up Ultimate Ghosts ‘n Goblins for the PlayStation Portable last weekend, and I have been having fun ever since. The game gives me back that feeling of my childhood, sitting in front of the living room TV, playing on my old Super Nintendo.
This game matches the old things that always worked with a few new tricks that make the experience even better. The old side scrolling adventure is one that can not be beat. No matter what else the gaming world invents, nothing can beat that. As far as new things that have come into the game, I really like the new 3D backgrounds and updated graphics. It makes the experience all that much better.
Game play is as solid as always. The only problem I could find is in the difficulty. Even on the “easy” setting, it is still pretty challenging. That is OK with me though, because I am not much of a fan of games I can beat in a day and a half.
Overall, I would say if you have a PSP, then this is one game you can’t afford to pass on. It is fun, addicting and very challenging. These are the types of games the PSP should have been putting out since day one.
