This time around, I happened to find it over at webhosting.wblogs.org. This beginner’s guide to Web hosting is something we should all probably have a look over from time to time. There is no time like the present to get a refresher course in Web hosting 101.

Wash Your Hands!

Dear Anybody Who Will Listen,

Why is it that people feel the need to wash their hands every five minutes after getting a new computer? I don’t think my hands have seen this much soap in a long time. Thanks!

Sincerely,

Google Image Labeler

Google Image LabelerOn the outside, this idea from Google seems sort of lame.

Welcome to Google Image Labeler, a new feature of Google Image Search that allows you to label random images to help improve the quality of Google’s image search results.

Once you try it out though, it is pretty fun. You are given a countdown clock and a partner to compete against. If you login, then you get to keep track of your score as well. Pretty much, Google wants to make it fun for you to do it’s dirty work.

Did I do good?

Now why go with HP? Well I have had two or three HP computers, and I have to say they might come loaded down with crap – but their customer support team has never let me down. With the last PC I bought from them, I had to return my monitor. I contacted them, told them the problem and they sent me another one with 2 or 3 day shipping. I sent my old one back in the box the new one came in and I was done with it. HP has won me over.

The new machine should be here either Thursday or Friday, so I’ll be sure to post some pics!

Only Two Applications

Almost ninety percent of the time, I am only using two applications on my computer. Sure, I have a lot of other things installed, but I really don’t use them that often. So which two are the lucky applications that I use?

Firefox covers my Web browsing and feed reading. NoteTab Pro covers all of my writing. The truth is, no matter how much I really don’t like all the Web 2.0 hype, I am doing a lot more things Online.
