Now it is no secret that I write a lot of articles and posts on a lot of different topics. From web hosting to Firefox to even freeware files, I pretty much cover it all. One thing that gets on my nerves more than anything else is somebody ordering me to write something about them.
I recently got an E-mail that started something like this:
Hi, I saw that you reviewed *Insert Random Topic Here* the other day. I can’t belive you missed reviewing my product. I have been around five times as long, and I have gotten so many awards. Why are you ignoring me?
Remember what your mother said about catching more flies with honey than vinegar? It was true! You think I am going to bend over backwards to help out a person like that? I don’t think so. Now how should have that have gone?
Hi, I saw that your review of *Insert Random Topic Here* and I loved it. Since you gave it a try, I would love it if you try my product as well. I have won a few awards for it, so I do think you might like checking it out. Thanks for your time!
If you want people to give you attention, try not to come off as an egotisical jerk.
