Character Select for Mortal Kombat Armageddon

I am sorry, but anytime I see anything about Mortal Kombat, I just turn into a ecstatic fanboy. This screenshot from the new Mortal Kombat Armageddon was a nice surprise in my RSS feeds this afternoon.

Rocking the Web Hosting World, Baby!

This is probably the first and the last time I will ever be mentioned in the same sentence with Brad Pitt. :)

How would you feel if Eddie Van Halen, Brad Pitt, Jay Leno or–insert your favorite celebrity–called you up and said that you rock? Well, that’s sort of what happened this week when Mitch Keeler, the undisputed rockstar of web host podcasting let it be known that WebHostingFinds.com was the choice for the Web Hosting Show podcast number 70’s Site of the Week.

Hosting Hoopla 2

I have started work on the next version of Hosting Hoopla. The past few months have been a nice trying out period, and now I’m going to take some of your suggestions and comments and work it into the Web site.

New Three Column Design – I wanted a cleaner look that had more content, but was still easy on the eyes. I have also sectioned off the front page into Inside Industry News, Outside Industry News, and Web Hosting Forums. Now all three sections can be seen evenly.

hbeta1.jpgNew Colors – I am going to keep the idea of being able to change the Web page’s CSS (and being able to save your favorite look). This time around everything is going to stay basically the same as far as layout goes, I am just going to add more colors. So far the two I have developed for this early beta is a blue and gray theme and one that looks more like the “classic” Hosting Hoopla orange and white.

If you have anymore idea on what you would like to see on the new HostingHoopla.com, be sure to leave a comment and let me know about it.

PSP 2.8 Firmare – Thoughts and Links

Logitech Playgear Pocket - Inside PSP CaseWell I upgraded my PSP to the newest firmware yesterday. I haven’t had too much time to play with it, but I have loaded it up with some new goodies.

First things first, I dropped a few video podcasts on it. Sure, we all wanted streaming video, but I am just as happy with downloading videos via the RSS feed. This takes my PC out of the middle and lets me check out and manage a lot more video content.

I got the latest game demos as well for the PSP. Lots of fun to be had, I just wish that Sony would release game demos a little more often and wouldn’t make us jump through ten hoops to get them on the PSP.

The last thing I have done is added Blaugh’s RSS feed to my PSP RSS Feed Reader. Yeah, you can subscribe to images via RSS now as well.

All in all, I really like this newest firmware update. Now if we could only get those downloadable PSOne games coming, I would be one happy gamer.

Top 5 Reasons I Hate Top 10 Firefox Extensions Lists

firefoxlogo.jpg1. Most of the list entries only have a few words of text to describe what they are really about. You really don’t get as much information as you might want.

2. I am tired of seeing them.

3. A monkey trained to type could come up with a better list topic than this.

4. You are likely to see the same 10 extensions listed on at least 5 different lists.

5. They are a cheap ploy by bloggers to get attention from social networking Web sites like Digg.

Interesting Marketing from Ziki.com

I got this E-mail yesterday from Severine at Ziki.com. I have to say it is at least an interesting way of marketing your new product, that is for sure. I’m also excited that I have become popular enough that somebody wants to buy Adwords on searches for my name in Google.

Hope you’re doing fine. I’m contacting you regarding your Ziki as I’ve got some good news :-) We selected it for our special “Adwords offer”.

To help you control what people find when they search your name on Google, we’ve bought your name and last name to run an adwords campaign, and get your Ziki listed at the top of Google Search results.

So whenever anyone searches for your name online, they’ll see your Ziki profile first, created by you, and not a third party site containing potentially wrong information. Your Ziki gives your full picture at a glance, with information you’ve chosen to highlight, so we think it’s best if people find your Ziki when looking for you!

4 Design and CSS Resources

While working on getting my various Web pages updated and moved to WordPress, I found several nice design and CSS resources that I never knew about before. It is shocking how much content is out there for designers to use these days. Out of the thirty or so links I saved, here are some of my favorites. Continue Reading →

Feed Subscribers Stats

I was thumbing through some of my statistical information on my RSS feeds (via FeedBurner) and I thought these might be interesting to share.

Now some people might say I shouldn’t “release this type of information to the public”. Personally, I don’t care. It is fun to watch where things are growing and falling as far as popularity goes. If I tried to follow each rise and move up from there, I’d go crazy. I think I would be better off just doing what I have been doing thus far.
