I have updated the list of Web hosting resources and RSS feeds via WebHostingShow.com. I added a few more RSS feeds for resources on the list. I also added a new dedicated section for control panels. If you know of any resources that I don’t have on the list yet, be sure to let me know.

Social Bookmarking Tools for Webmasters
It seems like social bookmarking is becoming one of the next biggest set of buzz words Online these days. Everybody wants to make it easy to share the content they provide in a number of different ways. At first, we saw little RSS graphics for adding to My Yahoo!, MSN, Google Reader and more. Now it seems like the latest trend is to have multiple ways to publish your links to the big social bookmarking sites out there. Now you could code this stuff by hand and toss it into your layout. Why do that, when there is a easier way?
Ping! Zine Goes Digital
My good friends at Ping! Zine had some good news to announce this morning. They are now offering both a digital and paperback versions of the best Web hosting magazine out there today.
Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine (http://www.pingzine.com), the longest-running and most widely read print magazine for the web hosting industry, announced today that it will now offer its award-winning magazine content in PDA and Online formats, in addition to its traditional print version.
Both new formats will be available for download on the company’s web site free of charge, and will incorporate the same content as the print magazine, including advertisements. The Online format will be available via either Portable Document Files (PDF) or eBook with Microsoft Reader.
“Our readership is comprised largely of tech-savvy and Internet based professionals, so we feel it is necessary to provide our magazine in a format that best represents the very topic we are covering,” said Keith Duncan, Publisher, Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine. “I’ve always felt it was kind of ironic that a magazine covering the web hosting industry is only available on paper.”
I have a feeling this will not be the last big announcement we hear from the folks at Ping! Zine. To pick up the latest edition of Ping! Zine, visit this Web page. Right now they have options for both Microsoft Reader for Pocket PC and Mobipocket of Pocket PC and Palm OS. I’m going to drop them an E-mail later today to see if we can get a PDF download going as well.
Update: I just got word from the editor over at Ping! Zine and there is a download link for the PDF version as well. You can pick it up here.
Remember Podcast Alley?
I remember when I first started production on the Web Hosting Show, I would try to get as many folks to vote for me (that usually was about 5 folks) at PodcastAlley.com. Today was my first time to go back and visit the Web site in a long time. I think interest dropped off from it after other places came into play. Places like iTunes and Odeo are just delivering more. So when was the last time you went down the Podcast Alley?
Managed and Unmanaged Hosting Servers
If you have ever done any serious server shopping, you have seen two words that you might not understand. Do you want a dedicated server that is “managed” or do you want one that is “unmanaged”? What really are the differences between the two? You know me, I’ll let you know (without the jargon) on this week’s edition of the Web Hosting Show.
Google Search and Social Bookmarks
More Hosting Hoopla updates for everybody to enjoy! Not a whole lot is going on this week, just thought I would touch on a few updates that I have made recently.
+ Added a Google Search box to the top-left corner of the layout. A few people who have been using Hosting Hoopla as a start page have asked for this one.
+ Added TopHosts.com to the main index of Web hosting feeds. Yet another great resource, check it out.
+ Added a few social bookmarking links to the bottom of all the Web pages. Now you can share Hosting Hoopla on a number of social bookmarking and news Web sites. I got the code for them over at AddToBookmarks.com. If you need a quick and easy way to add these links to your Web site, check out this resource.
Check out Hosting Hoopla for more Web hosting links and news!
To Flash or Not to Flash
Go head over to WebHostingShow.com and take the poll on if I should add flash tutorials to the Web Hosting Show’s layout.
Moola – Easy Money?
A penny saved is a penny earned. What if that penny is given to you for free though? That is the idea behind Moola.com. You wager a said amount of money on if you think you can win a game or not, then you have the chance to double up if you win. Personally, I haven’t made it past 64 cents. Right now they only have two games you can play, so that is a little ‘bit of a let down as well. Hopefully they will be adding more soon. I’ve got it bookmarked as a fun time killer.
Need more info? Check out what Pete had to say about Moola and it’s buisness model over at Mashable*.
Web Hosting Talk – No RSS Feeds?
I was looking to add Web Hosting Talk to Hosting Hoopla due to a lot of folks asking for it. I mean, why shouldn’t they? It is one of the biggest set of Web hosting forums out there. Today I finally got around to talking to Web Hosting Talk support to ask them if they have an RSS feed or not. Here is what they had to say:
You’ll find what you need to know in this thread.
So I checked out that thread. Did I find an answer to my question? No. If you read through that thread it says that it used to be for premium members only, but now there aren’t any new premium member sign-ups, but there was no final work from anybody from Web Hosting Talk there.
Taking Hosting Hoopla out of the picture, I think charging folks to get access to the RSS feed isn’t very good business practices. I mean, you are telling folks, “I know you really want to keep up to date with us and come back to the Web site but if you don’t pay us money, we aren’t going to make that easy for you”.
I’ve asked for more details, so I’ll let you know if I ever get a feed out of them.
SB-1 Gets a Win
I just updated SB1Online.com with SB-1′s most recent win in Arkansas.
The AWA (Arkansas Wrestling Association) held a show in Magnolia, Arkansas, this past Saturday (June 3) in which superstars from the TPWA appeared. The arena was PACKED with enthusiastic fans who let the wrestlers know how they felt. The first two matches featured AWA stars, then the TPWA took over and stole the show.
