More Blogware Problems

I e-mailed this to as many Tucows and Blogware folks I could find. Hopefully I can get somebody’s attention!

I just have a few little things to bring up this time. I mean, come on guy! I am now one of your most popular bloggers… give me a little! Top Blogware blogger used to be Chris, before he got tired of messing with it and moved to WordPress.

Problem #1: I Can’t Change My Profile Photo! Never have been able to, might not ever be able to.

Problem #2: Name one person who has ever used the templates for the music, book or movie reviews. Right now they are just taking up space in my administration panel.

Problem #3: Keywords! Why can’t I have a keyword that is more than one stinking word. If I wanted to use my name as a keyword, I’d have to put either Mitch or Keeler (because MitchKeeler looks strange). Why can’t I just put quotation marks around multiple word keywords like everyone else?

Problem #4: Let me rename the main category. Maybe I don’t like it being called “Main Page”? Maybe I want to call it Betty?

Problem #5: The layouts are WAY too table heavy. Bandwidth could probably be cut in half if more CSS was used for the styles. While we are on the topic of styles, we need more choices. Some of the choices we have look like somebody threw up on some HTML and said, “Hey… that looks nice!”

Problem #6: Why do I have to have some of my pages with a trailing /blog on them and some of them without it? This makes for bad search engine optimization. let’s ditch the /blog after my domain.

Problem #7: Let me edit my RSS feed a little more. Why do I need to? For that problem, see problem #6.

Problem #8: Don’t play content king with OUR content. (Need an example? See Chris’s problem getting the rest of his content off of Blogware’s servers.)

Problem #9: Give us some REAL updates. I have been using Blogware since 2004. When was the last new memorable feature added? There hasn’t. Give me a new tool to play with or a new feature to show off. When was the official Blogware blog updated last? January! Even you folks don’t seem too excited about using it.

Problem #10: I know why I don’t get too many comments on my articles and posts. It looks too damn confusing down there. I wouldn’t want to leave me a comment either.

Now Blogware this isn’t to make you feel bad or mad. I am just one user that wants a better experience with your system. Please let me know you are at least working on some of these and I’ll be happy.
