When at first don’t succeed, try try again. I guess that was one of the main reasons I re-launched Hosting Hoopla. At first, I wanted it to be your standard blog. Where was the problem? That has been done before. I like to do things that haven’t been done before.
This time things are different. I have decided to go back to my first vision of Hosting Hoopla. Starting today, Hosting Hoopla isn’t a “blog”. It is an Online news reader for some of the top spots in the Web hosting industry. Ok, online link aggregation with a touch of RSS has been done before, but this is the first time that the Web hosting industry has been highlighted.
Featured on the Web site right now are headlines from:
I’m not just staying inside of the Web hosting industry though.
Click on “Outside Industry News” to get the latest hosting links from:
+ Digg.com
+ Feedster
…and many more! The resources will keep growing as we go along.
A big inspiration for much of the Web site was Chris Pirillo’s Gada.be meta search. At the bottom of the “Outside Industry Links” section, there is even a link to search for more hosting links via Gada.be. All you need to do is click on “Need More?”.
The Web hosting industry isn’t well known for staying on top of the leading edge of technology. With the new Hosting Hoopla, I hope to give Web hosts and Web hosting clients a tool to keep themselves better informed about everything the Web hosting world has to offer.
What is planned for the future? Obviously there are a million and one directions this could go in. I will promise you that Hosting Hoopla will continue to evolve.
So go check out HostingHoopla.com and give me your feedback, thoughts, and suggestions for future resources you’d like to see highlighted.
Update: Why no HostingTech.com or WebHostingChat.com Links?
Well, I would love to add them, but iNet Interactive (the company behind both Web sites) charges you to be able to use their RSS feeds. I really don’t think that anybody should have to pay to get access to an RSS feed.
