Google has taken a step closer to really using RSS! I have just taken a look at the new Google Reader and I have to say it shows promise, but I am not really excited just yet. Unlike Yahoo!, Google really hasn’t gotten the idea of RSS and how to use it correctly. Hopefully this new project will push them into the direction of more RSS integration.
For podcasters, one nice feature is that there is a flash player built into the Google Reader. That way I can listen to a podcast right there. They get points for that.
On the negative side the interface is still pretty ugly. I’d like to see a better organization of my RSS feeds and my groups of RSS feeds. So give it a shot, and let me know what you think. Has Google gotten RSS savvy?
