Well it is official, I’ve hit the big time!
From Lockergnome’s Staff Page:
Mitch Keeler is Lockergnome’s resident freaky guy and Web hosting guru. Since leaving the world of Web hosting, Mitch has been writing to help people better understand everything from FTP to server up time. There are many questions surrounding the Web hosting world, and Mitch will not stop writing till every one of them has been answered. The world of Web hosting is not the only love Mitch knows though. He is a consistent contributor to several Lockergnome channels including Web Developers, Game Invasion, Tech News Watch, and Windows Fanatics. Mitch has also started to deliver his own twist on the technology world on mitchelaneous. It is a place for him to share his views, recent news and all things geek.
Six months of hard work and dedication are behind me now with Lockergnome, and I am still as excited as I was about being a member of the team since day one. Every contributor I have met at Lockergnome has been helpful, kind and fun to talk with. I’ve made a lot of new friends and gotten a larger audience for myself as well. Here is something I wrote up for the Web page hyping folks up to join Lockergnome as a Contributor, Writer, or Editor:
“Once fired from the Web hosting world, I didn’t have a place to turn. Having only my writing ability and my wits, I turned to becoming a member of the Lockergnome staff. Since then I have received three times the writing and article jobs I did before. Also, getting to know and learn from some of the more experienced staff members did more than, ‘get my name out there’, it made me a better writer.” ~ Mitch Keeler
That pretty much sums it up for my stay at Lockergnome so far. Also thanks to the fact I can toss around the fact I am a Lockergnome contributor a few other perks have come my way. The biggest one so far is seeing myself soon in print, in Ping! Zine. My Web site and blog daily hits have gone up as well. I went from around 300 hits a month to 25,000. That is a large jump in folks interested in hearing what I have to say.
Self promotion is not the only reason I am a happy Gnomie though. I really just love to help folks out with their problems and like to write about the technology industry in a whole.
So let me say thanks to everybody at Lockergnome (everyone from readers to fellow writers) for making these past six months so wonderful!
