Earlier this morning I wrote up an article for Lockergnome about the new GoldenEye game that I was looking forward to. I use the past tense because after checking out a few review Web sites I am less than impressed with this highly hyped title. Back when it was first announced it was suppose to bring back that warm and fuzzy feeling we got from GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64. Now it just sounds like a bad attempt at bringing back an old idea.

Maybe GoldenEye on the Nintendo 64 was more special because of where it was in the gaming time line. Honestly, if it were the newest thing on the block today, could it stand toe-to-toe with games like Doom 3, Halo 2, or Half Life 2?
